Black Friday 2026: what to run, how to run it, and where coupons and feeds fit

E-commerce deals for Black Friday

The rehearsal is over. If you used October the way we suggested in Prime Big Deal Days is your Q4 dress rehearsal, you now know your lead angle, your mobile conversion rate and how many days your cash takes to come back. This post is about the show itself: which campaign types actually pay in Black Friday week, how to use coupon codes and product feeds without getting burned, and which offers in our catalogue we'd put money behind.

One number frames everything that follows. Adobe's 2026 forecast expects discounts to climb from up to 14% in early November to 21% just before Thanksgiving and 30% in Cyber Week. Black Friday isn't a day anymore. It's a month with a crescendo, and the affiliates who make money treat it that way.

The calendar is a month, not a day

Most Q4 mistakes come from planning around November 27 alone. Here's the sequence that actually moves traffic this year:

WhenEventWhy it matters to you
Nov 11 (Wed)Singles' Day (11.11)The first big marketplace spike. Awin saw Singles' Day sales up 31% year on year in 2025. AliExpress territory.
Nov 13–17El Buen Fin (Mexico)Mexico's Black Friday, five days long. If you run LATAM traffic, this is your main event.
Nov 27 (Fri)Black FridayBiggest day for TVs, toys, apparel, appliances and furniture, per Adobe's forecast.
Nov 28–29Cyber WeekendDiscounts stay deep, CPMs stay high. Good for retargeting and email, expensive for cold tests.
Nov 30 (Mon)Cyber MondayBest day for electronics and computers. Last year it was the biggest US online shopping day on record.
Dec 1 (Tue)Travel TuesdayTravel's own Black Friday. Hopper counted 3.5 times more trips planned than on the previous Tuesday in 2024.

The demand doesn't wait for the last week either. impact.com's consumer survey found 75% of shoppers start researching before mid-November, and Rakuten Advertising saw gross-sales growth in its 2025 consumer panel run twice as high at the start of November as at the end. In practice that splits your work in two. Pages that need to rank (deal round-ups, store guides, comparison tables) must be live and indexed in the first ten days of November. Paid budget is the opposite: test small early, then spend hard on the four days when intent peaks. impact.com's data shows why those days matter: across more than a thousand North American retail brands, Black Friday alone took 31% of Cyber Week revenue and Cyber Monday 26%.

A note for European traffic, where a big part of our catalogue lives. Black Week is a mature habit there, not a growth story. Germany's retail association expected Black Friday and Cyber Monday spend to fall almost 2% in 2025, the first decline since 2016. In Poland, BLIK processed more than 8 million Black Friday payments worth almost PLN 1.5 billion, up 17% year on year. Mature markets don't mean less money. They mean the fight is for share, and share goes to whoever shows up with the right offer, the right code and a page that loads on a phone.

Campaign types that pay in Black Friday week

Not every vertical benefits equally. These are the four that reliably do, and how each one wants to be run.

1. CPS e-commerce: marketplaces, electronics, fashion, beauty

The obvious one and the biggest pool of money. You earn a share of the basket, so everything hinges on conversion rate and order value. Two data points should shape your creatives. First, discounts are deepest where you'd expect: in Adobe's 2025 recap, peak discounts hit 30.9% on electronics, 29.6% on toys and 25.1% on apparel. Second, baskets didn't grow. impact.com measured average order value up just 1% in Cyber Week 2025, while the average item price slipped from $47 to $45. People bought more items, cheaper. Bundles, "under 50" lists and multi-item gift guides fit that behaviour better than one hero product.

Match the store to the day. Electronics peak on Cyber Monday, so a Media Expert or RTV Euro AGD push belongs on November 30, not the 27th. Apparel and footwear peak on Black Friday itself. Marketplaces run the whole month and start on 11.11.

2. Subscriptions and software: VPN, security, trading tools

This is the vertical most affiliates underrate in Q4. Subscription brands commonly save their lowest annual price of the year for this week, which turns an evergreen review page into a time-limited offer overnight. The model suits content and email: a comparison table, an updated "best VPN" page, a short newsletter that says the price that's usually expensive is cheap until Monday. It also travels well: almost every one of these offers converts worldwide, so you aren't limited to the GEOs where Black Friday is a cultural event. Before you put a percentage in a headline, confirm the current promo with your account manager. Black Friday pricing changes year to year and a wrong number in a headline costs you trust and, sometimes, the commission.

3. Travel: the Tuesday after

Travel has its own peak, and it lands after Cyber Monday, on Travel Tuesday (December 1 this year). Activities, rail, flights and eSIMs all fit. Travel is also the category where AI-assisted shopping grew fastest: Adobe measured AI-referred traffic to travel sites up 539% over the 2025 holiday season. If you publish destination or "gift an experience" content, refresh it in the last week of November so it's current when the Tuesday deals land.

4. Lead generation with a gift-card angle

Not every campaign needs a purchase. Sweepstakes and lead offers built around a gift card ("win your holiday budget") match the season's mood and convert on a single form. They pay per lead, which means your payout doesn't rise when CPMs do, so watch your margin daily in Cyber Week and pause anything that only broke even in October. Read the traffic rules first: many of these offers allow incentive traffic, some don't.

Where to start: offers we'd run this year

Below is a short list from our live catalogue, grouped by campaign type. Each link goes to the campaign page with the current payout, GEO and traffic rules. The catalogue changes weekly in Q4 as advertisers add seasonal campaigns, so check all campaigns or ask your account manager what's new.

If your audience is deal hunters rather than buyers of a specific product, there's a second option: promote a deal tool itself. Coupert, a coupon and cashback extension, pays for the user it acquires rather than a single basket, which can be the better trade when your traffic browses many stores.

Operator takeaway

Pick one hero offer per campaign type and one backup, not twenty. In Cyber Week you won't have time to debug twenty links, and a backup matters more than variety: caps fill, stock runs out and advertisers pause promotions mid-weekend. Agree caps and backups with your account manager before November 27.

Coupon codes: still the fastest click, but the rules changed

Codes still work. In impact.com's survey, 43% of shoppers said they would definitely use a code if it was easy to find, and free shipping was the deal type people preferred most (44%). Adobe's forecast puts cashback and rewards partners at 36% of affiliate traffic this season. Coupon-led traffic is a big part of how this channel makes money in Q4.

What changed is how closely that traffic is watched. In 2025 Google started enforcing a Chrome Web Store rule that bans extensions from inserting an affiliate link unless the program is disclosed, the user takes an action, and the user gets a direct benefit at that moment. In January 2026, Rakuten Advertising removed PayPal's Honey from its network, impact.com suspended it and Awin suspended its payments, all over attribution and stand-down violations. Advertisers took the lesson to heart: in Q4 they audit coupon traffic for incrementality, and commissions from codes that leaked or were never meant for you get reversed.

The network data shows codes alone aren't enough anymore either. Awin saw voucher-driven sales fall in the five days before Black Friday 2025 and influencer sales that used a coupon drop 9%, while sales through brand partnerships grew 12%. The code is the closer, not the strategy.

How to run coupons in 2026 without getting reversed

  • Use codes issued to you. An exclusive or tracked code proves the sale was yours. A code scraped from a forum proves nothing and often breaks the advertiser's terms.
  • Pair every code with a deeplink. Send the click to the sale or category page the code applies to, not the homepage. Fewer steps, fewer abandoned baskets.
  • Publish store pages early. "Black Friday deals at [store]" pages need to be indexed by early November to rank. Update the code and the date on the day, but don't launch the page on the day.
  • Own the list. Email, Telegram and WhatsApp audiences are the coupon channels advertisers trust most, because the user subscribed to get deals.
  • Test before you send. Run the link through the Link Checker from the right GEO on a phone and confirm the code works on the landing page. An expired code in a 50,000-person newsletter is a bad Friday.

On Profit Ninja: coupon codes are available for selected e-commerce stores, on request. Tell your account manager the offer, the GEO and where the code will appear, and we'll get you a code that is tracked to you.

Product feeds: from price tables to AI shopping

A product feed is a file the advertiser maintains (usually XML or CSV) listing every product with its title, price, sale price, stock status, image and a link. In a normal month it's a convenience. In Black Friday week it's the difference between a page that's right and a page that's wrong, because prices change several times a day and bestsellers sell out. A comparison table typed by hand on Wednesday is out of date by Friday morning, and a visitor who clicks a price that no longer exists doesn't come back.

Feeds turn that problem into an advantage. With one you can build:

  • Live price and comparison tables that update themselves through the weekend.
  • Category and budget pages ("headphones under 100", "gifts for runners") generated from real stock, the model behind programmatic SEO.
  • Price-drop alerts for an email list or a Telegram channel, triggered when the sale price changes.
  • Dynamic ads and retargeting that show the exact product someone looked at, at today's price.

Comparison traffic is growing fastest of any partner type. In impact.com's Cyber Week 2025 data, comparison and pricing-technology partners grew transactions 79% and conversion 40%, and doubled their share of orders to 4%. Awin saw comparison sites up 7% on Black Friday while cashback slipped 5%.

There's a newer reason feeds matter: AI shopping assistants. Adobe measured AI-referred visits converting 31% better than other traffic over the 2025 holiday season and 38% better on Black Friday, and expects AI traffic to retail sites to grow 130% this season. Salesforce estimates AI and agents influenced a fifth of all Cyber Week orders last year. These assistants read structured data. OpenAI's commerce documentation, for example, asks merchants for a product feed refreshed daily. Adobe found 39% of the homepages it analysed weren't machine-readable at all. The affiliate pages that get cited are the ones carrying clean, current product data: names, prices, availability and product markup, not prices baked into an image.

On Profit Ninja: product feeds are available for selected e-commerce stores, on request. Ask your account manager for the feed for the offer you want to build on, along with the format and how often it refreshes.

The Black Friday week checklist

Before November 27

  • Offers: one hero and one backup per campaign type, caps confirmed in writing, and seasonal landing pages or promo dates checked with your account manager.
  • Pages: deal and store pages indexed by November 10, prices pulled from a feed, and dates and codes ready to swap in on the day.
  • Links: every tracking link and deeplink tested in the Link Checker from the target GEO on mobile. Mobile was 57.5% of Cyber Monday 2025 sales in Adobe's data, and Salesforce put mobile at 70% of Cyber Week orders.
  • Tracking: S2S postbacks verified at volume, plus a quick read of attribution models if you run coupon or cashback traffic.
  • Budget: test in early November, scale on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, cut on the weekend if margins fold. Budget allocation covers the split.
  • Cash: know how many days your money takes to come back. Our 48-hour payouts let you put Black Friday's earnings back into Cyber Monday.

FAQ

When should I start promoting Black Friday offers?

Content and SEO pages should be live and indexed in the first ten days of November, because impact.com found 75% of shoppers start researching before mid-November and Adobe expects discounts to build from early November. Paid traffic is different: test small through Singles' Day and early November, then put the real budget behind Black Friday (November 27) and Cyber Monday (November 30).

Are coupon codes and product feeds available for every offer?

No. Coupon codes and product feeds are available for selected e-commerce stores, on request. Tell your account manager which offer you want, which traffic you will use the code or feed with, and in which GEO. Approved codes are tracked to you; codes you find on the open web usually are not, and can void your commission.

Can I bid on brand keywords like "Brand Black Friday" or post brand coupon codes I found online?

Only if the offer's terms allow it. Brand bidding and unauthorised codes are the two rules advertisers enforce hardest in Q4, because that is when they look for leakage. Check the traffic rules on the campaign page and confirm anything unclear with your account manager before Cyber Week, not after the reversal.

I didn't test anything in October. Is it too late?

No, but use the first half of November as your test window instead. Singles' Day on November 11 and the early-November discount wave give you real deal-season traffic at lower prices than Cyber Week. Run every link through the Link Checker, keep budgets modest, and only scale what has already converted.

Run the month, peak on the days

Black Friday rewards preparation more than any other week of the year. Pages that are indexed early, codes that are yours, prices that come from a feed, and links you've tested from the right GEO on a phone. Get those right and the four big days take care of themselves. Miss them and you're paying Cyber Week prices to learn what October could have taught you.
