Terms

Pixel
A snippet that fires from the browser to record an event.
Postback
A server-to-server call that reports a conversion.
Click ID
A unique identifier attached to each click for matching.
Attribution
The rule that decides which click gets credit for a conversion.
First-click attribution
Credit goes to the first touch.
Last-click attribution
Credit goes to the final touch.
Session
A single visit / period of activity by a user.
Event
A tracked action (view, click, signup, purchase).
Conversion
A completed, payable action.
Cohort
A group of users sharing a trait or start date, analysed over time.
Dashboard
A view that aggregates your key metrics.
KPI
Key Performance Indicator — a metric that actually drives decisions.
Tracking URL
The link carrying your click ID and parameters.
Redirect
An intermediate hop that records the click before the offer.
Cookie
Browser storage historically used to remember a click.
